FIG. 03 · MEASURED RUN / CONTENT OPS · DTC RETAIL

DTC retail: 9d → 2d

A briefing agent that refuses incomplete briefs — campaign turnaround measured across 14 campaigns.

Context

A DTC retailer with a three-person marketing team and a campaign calendar that slipped weekly. Median turnaround from request to send: 9 days — almost none of it writing time. The bottleneck was incomplete briefs bouncing between Slack threads.

What was built

An intake agent that interrogates every campaign request until the brief is complete — audience, offer, proof, deadline — then drafts subject lines, body copy, and variants from the structured brief. Review rounds fell from four to one.

How the intake interrogation works, with a real exchange, is in field note FIG. 9.

The result

ARTIFACT — TURNAROUND, 14 CAMPAIGNStrailing 6 months as baseline
baseline — median 9 days, request → send
weeks 1–4 — agent gates all new campaign requests
campaigns 1–14 — median 2 days, request → send
[ campaign calendar, before/after ]

“We argued about the message before anything was written. That was the whole unlock.”
